Polymer Solutions Moves Offices and Lab to Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center

Polymer Solutions Incorporated has moved its entire laboratory operations and offices from the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center to a nearby location in the Blacksburg Industrial Park. The Corporate Research Center was home to Polymer Solutions Incorporated for over seventeen years. The company had moved once and expanded five times within the Corporate Research Center.

The expanded facility offers continued strong growth of this unique polymer laboratory. Within this facility, novel materials are created or modified, materials are comprehensively characterized, and materials consulting is provided for product improvement or failure analysis. Polymer materials are plastic and rubbery materials used for film, fiber, coating, adhesive, and molded applications. Products from transportation industries, construction firms, defense contractors, materials manufacturers, utility companies, and medical and pharmaceutical manufacturers, from all over the world, arrive at Polymer Solutions Incorporated daily. According to Dr. James Rancourt, the Technical Director of Polymer Solutions Incorporated, "This facility move is allowing us to properly serve our broad industrial client base and continue our strong growth. Adding staff and new equipment requires more space to maintain efficient, safe, and high quality workflows.”

Due to projected growth, this is not the last move for this nimble company. Land has been purchased for the construction of an even larger facility within the Blacksburg Industrial Park to accommodate expanded materials characterization, R&D, and custom manufacturing operations. The Laboratory Manager of Polymer Solutions Incorporated, recently named Great Laboratory Manager in an article published by Laboratory News, said, “Our expanded laboratory space is
exciting for our staff, enabling them to further improve efficiencies in our lab operation. Now we have the space to handle increased capacity and staff.”
