BASF to Re-Brand Polyamide Product Range

Between April 1 and December 31, 2007, BASF will be revamping its polyamide product line in Europe. This will entail rebranding about 150 polyamide types of the Ultramid®, Miramid® and Capron® brands and adapting their distribution channels.

The company’s goal is to offer its customers an even broader product spectrum directly from BASF. Most of the Capron grades will be incorporated into the Miramid or Ultramid product lines, depending on their specific property profiles. Therefore, all existing contracts with Capron distributors have been terminated. After a transition period of about six months, the corresponding Capron types can be purchased directly from BASF.

All of BASF’s polyamide grades will continue to be available: The re-branding will only change the names and distribution channels of the products involved, while their properties and specifications will remain the same.
