Goodyear to Close Canadian Conveyor Operation

Goodyear will discontinue most of the operations at the Bowmanville plant in Canada by April 2004.

Fabric conveyor belt manufacturing will cease, while steel cable conveyor belt equipment will be relocated to another premises. However, blended, unvulcanised rubber compounds will continue to be produced at this location.

The decision to make these changes was brought about by a drop in market demand for these products.
