Hiden HPR-40 Mass Spectrometer Provides Real-Time Dissolved Gas Analysis

The Hiden HPR-40 research-grade mass spectrometer system provides for real-time analysis of dissolved gases and vapours, both single and multiple species, in aqueous solutions. Gas/vapour permeable membrane interfaces are available for both static and dynamic flow applications and comprise a tubular probe series for direct insertion into media, large area sampling cells for flow-through applications and fixed-volume cells with integral agitation for reaction studies. The membrane carriers are of stainless construction as standard, with acrylic cells available for photo-sensitive samples. All gaseous species with molecular weights below 300 amu can be measured.

The HPR-40 system is fully programmable with simultaneous multiple species monitoring capability. An optional multiport inlet manifold extends the application range allowing sequential measurement from up to eight sampling points. Primary applications include biological and environmental areas such as fermentation culture analysis, gaseous and volatile organic species monitoring in media such as sea water and soils, and evolved gas studies from microbiological systems. A custom-design service is available for evaluation of non-standard requirements.

The freestanding benchtop module, measuring 60x60x60cm, is fully integrated and has automatically activated protection against overpressure events including membrane rupture. The system is PC driven with user-programmable multi-tasking firmware for configuration of process-specific control and data acquisition functions.
