Stimir Awarded Contract for Alcoa Fjardaal Smelter in Iceland

Stímir’s parent company VHE has been awarded the major part of the electrical and mechanical maintenance contract for the new Alcoa Fjardaal smelter at Reydarfjordur in Iceland.

The work to be undertaken includes scheduled and preventative maintenance and breadown attendance throughout the rodding plant, potrooms and casthouse.

Stimir will handle a substantial part of this work, with other companies in the VHE Group responsible for the remainder.

The contract is valid for seven years, and commenced in March 2007.

Stimir hf. is a solution provider to the primary aluminium industry. All aspects of design and fabrication are undertaken at Stimir’s own facilities, ensuring total quality control and on-time delivery.
