Zamil Steel hosted an esteemed delegation of Engineers and Inspectors from Saudi Aramco/ Inspection Department Training Unit on Wednesday, 23 May 2007. Personnel from Zamil Steel Structural Steel Division (SSD) greeted the visitors warmly and conducted a series of informational presentations that, together with a facility tour, gave our guests an extensive review of Zamil Steel, its people and its standards of operation.
The program began with an introductory presentation that included general information about SSD, given by Ali Elias; an instructive talk about Steel Structure Design and Detailing with 3D models, including drawings and visuals, presented by Ahmad Taher, and a complete shop tour, guided by Raji Muhanna.
The Zamil Steel presentations and tours covered all facets of company operation, from engineering and preparation to fabrication, issuance of materials, quality control and inspection, and more. Zamil Steel personnel facilitating the visit included: Sankara Akilan/ZS Saudi SS QA/QC, Raji Muhanna/ZS Saudi SS Manufacturing, Ahmed Taher/ZS Saudi SS Engineering, Michael Patole/ZS SS Saudi Marketing, Uthaya Kumar/ZS Saudi SS QC, and Ali Elias/SSD Saudi Marketing.
Based on the closing comments of all of the Saudi Aramco attendees, the event is very educational and informative and all are extremely impressed with SSD's high level of automation and the manner of operations. The excellent efforts of all who took part in the visit are greatly appreciated, and the expectation going forward is that the events of the day will result in an enhanced and strengthened working relationship between Zamil Steel and Saudi Aramco.
