Ceradyne Receive $21.3m Body Armour Order

Ceradyne have received a further order for Small Arms Protective Inserts (SAPI) from the US armed forces. The order is worth $21.3 million, with delivery to commence in the first quarter of 2004, and final shipments to be made before the end of 2004.

The latest order is part of a multi-year supply contract from the US Department of Defence and takes the total value of SAPI orders thus far for Ceradyne to $64 million.

Ceradyne are in the process of installing more equipment for producing more body armour. They expect the new production capacity to be in service in early 2004.
