As the red carpet rolled out at the British Academy Film Awards, at the London Party, hosted by United International Pictures, Variety Magazine and Steinmetz diamonds, Jaguar Cars added to the “Britishness” of the occasion by supplying a fleet of cars to chauffeur the celebrity guests in style.
The event was attended by many of the A list celebrities who were in town to celebrate the BAFTA Awards.
No doubt even film stars are impressed by a diamond encrusted ' Jaguar-Steinmetz' car.
Donated by Jaguar Cars in association with The Steinmetz Group, this unique XK8 sports convertible is encrusted with two brilliant Sunexis-cut 1 carat diamonds fitted on the walnut facia on each side of the navigation system, a sill insert with 'Jaguar- Steinmetz' on the tread plate, and a special ' Jaguar- Steinmetz' gear knob and chrome pedals.
The value of the car alone is £60,000 and the insurance value of the two diamonds combined is in excess of £20,000. The car is due to be auctioned, with the proceeds benefiting the Elton John Aids Foundation!
Jaguar's Chairman and CEO, Joe Greenwell said : ‘The London party will bring together some of the very best talent in cinema.
