Background

Ti6Al2Zr2Sn2Mo2Cr0.25Si or Ti-6-22-22 was developed to fill the need for a deep hardeneable, lower density, high toughness material. It is alpha-beta in structure and combinations of high toughness and high strength accompanied by good ductility are achievable in alpha-beta processed bar at dimensions of up to 100mm.
