Bolton Institute Offer 7 Ph.D Studentships in Materials Research - News Item

As Bolton Institute becomes Britain’s Newest University we have opportunities for top graduate students to join our world leading materials research teams. The Centre for Materials Research and Innovation (CMRI) is a newly created multi-disciplinary centre designed to cultivate research and innovative activities in collaboration with industry and other academic institutions.

The Centre leads the UK with its strong applied and diagnostic approach to new and novel technologies that embrace change and creativity in vision and application. The Centre’s established strengths are in the following areas:

  • Healthcare & Biomaterials,
  • Smart Materials and Systems,
  • Intelligent Packaging,
  • Fire Science and Fire Retardancy
  • Technical Textiles

CMRI at Bolton Institute has 7 fully-funded EPSRC sponsored PhD studentships available immediately in the above areas. Applicants should hold a good Honours Degree (first class or upper second class honours) or M.Sc. in related areas and have been ordinary resident in the UK for a period of 3 years immediately prior to the date of application for an award. The student stipend is a minimum of £10,500 in the first year.

EU nationals are eligible for fees-only awards if they have been resident in their own country for a period of 3 years immediately prior to the date of the application for an award.
