Introduction
Copper is an extremely useful metal and its high thermal and electrical conductivity find a number of applications in fields such as electrical component manufacture etc. The nature and the amount of impurities that are alloyed with copper determine the application for which the alloy is used for.
Copper C66800 is an alloy of manganese, copper and zinc and is referred to as manganese bronze. This alloy is available in various shapes like round, square, etc. This alloy exhibits good corrosion resistance to sea water.

Fabrication
Some of the methods adopted for fabricating this alloy are coining, bending, coppersmith, upsetting and drawing. Other methods of fabrication are knurling, roll threading, spinning, swaging and stamping.
Forging - Copper UNS C66800 alloy has good forging ability.
Hot working - Copper UNS C66800 alloy has excellent hot working abilities.
Cold working - Copper UNS C66800 alloy has excellent cold working properties.
