M.Sc.. Applied Geology

Chinmay Chari is a technical writer based in Goa, India. His academic background is in Earth Sciences and he holds a Master's degree in Applied Geology from Goa University. His academic research involved the petrological studies of Mesoarchean komatiites in the Banasandra Greenstone belt in Karnataka, India. He has also had exposure to geological fieldwork in Dharwad, Vadodara, in India, as well as the coastal and western ghat regions of Goa, India. As part of an internship, he has been trained in geological mapping and assessment of the Cudnem mine, mapping of a virgin area for mineral exploration, as well as understanding of the beneficiation and shipping processes of iron ore.

Chinmay has vast experience working as a data researcher in the metals and mining industry conducting comprehensive research through various publications such as annual reports, quarterly reports, and technical reports from global mining organizations. He is passionate about igneous petrology and processes, geological fieldwork, and extensive data research on exploration and mining projects.

As a part of his profession, he has also contributed to ‘Give Back’ programs, volunteering for tree plantations, and environmental education orientation programs at the Centre of Environmental Education, Ahmedabad. He stumbled upon technical writing which has been helping him expand his horizons and put his technical knowledge and experience to good use.
