Micromeritics, Malvern Panalytical and Netzsch will be hosting a two-and-a-half-day workshop on analytical techniques and methods for characterizing and optimizing Heterogeneous catalysts. The workshop is targeted at all people working in the field of Heterogeneous Catalysts including fundamental research, production and end use applications, and will cover the following topics;

  • Physisorption / Chemisorption
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Particle Characterization
  • Structural and Elemental Analysis

The workshop will also include practical sessions where delegates will see the various techniques being demonstrated by a team of application specialists.

DAY 2 - ADSORPTION / THERMAL ANALYSIS

ADSORPTION

  • 9-10am – Physisorption: Determining the surface area and porosity of Heterogeneous catalysts
  • 10-10:40am – Chemisorption: Determining the chemical activity of catalytic surfaces
  • 10:40-11:00am – BREAK
  • 11:00-11:30pm – Practical guidelines and recommendations for using Temperature Programmed Techniques
  • 11:30-12pm - In-situ catalyst characterisation

  • 2:20-2:50pm - Thermophysical Properties: Determination of relevant material properties like Specific Heat Capacity, Thermal Expansion and Thermal Conductivity

  • 11:20-12:10pm – Evaluating process relevant powder properties for catalyst manufacture
