Felix Baumgartner, an Austrian skydiver and BASE jumper, recently ascended to 120,000 feet in a space capsule that was supported beneath a stratospheric balloon to make a freefall jump. He fell down 23 miles to Earth at supersonic speeds before parachuting to the ground.
