Mark Bumiller from HORIBA Particle Products introduces us to some particle characterization by static and dynamic image analysis and the HORIBA PSA300 and Camsizer. These instruments calculate particle size and shape distributions.

The PSA300 is a static particle measuring instrument that features a microscope, digital camera and automated stage to image the particles in a substrate and then analyze them with powerful software.

The Camsizer is a dynamic technique particle size and shape analysis technique that uses cameras and a vibrating feeder to analyze dry powders and granules. It is a modern alternative to sieve analysis and analyzes powders and granules as they fall in front of cameras. It is suited to fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, catalysts, foods etc.
