Hydro to Discontinue Divestment of Hydro Polymers

Hydro has decided to discontinue its planned divestment of its wholly owned subsidiary Hydro Polymers.

Rather then divest the fourth largest producer and supplier of PVC in Europe, the organisation will streamline its operations and complete ongoing investment projects to strengthen its position.

Hydro Polymers has operations in Norway, Sweden and the UK and participates in joint ventures in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. They are also in the process of expanding their chlorine plant at Rafnes, with production due to commence in 2005.
