Bodycote Materials Testing, part of Bodycote Testing, the worldwide food-to-engineering testing company, has acquired Metlab, Ireland’s leading provider of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and Construction Materials Testing (CMT).
Established in 1981 in Cork and Dublin, Metlab is a well respected, privately owned laboratory business. Metlab services a range of industries in Ireland including pharmaceutical, utility, power generation, civil construction, manufacturing and inspection/maintenance. The company recently set up a further base in Galway to take advantage of a €10 billion infrastructure spend in the Border, Midland and West (BMW) region.
The acquisition will strengthen Bodycote Testing’s presence in Ireland as well as enabling the company to benefit from the vast experience in international construction standards and codes of practice used in Ireland held by Metlab’s NDT team. Becoming part of the Bodycote Group will enable Metlab to expand into new areas and benefit from the resources and expertise available at other materials testing laboratories.
