PolyOne Adds Compounds for Cables for Solar Panels to Its Product Range

PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, has added compounds for cables used in solar panels to its portfolio of sustainable solutions. The protective cable insulation and jacketing made from PolyOne's ECCOH compounds can be found in solar cells that convert sunlight into electricity.

“Photovoltaic installations are growing worldwide by about 30 percent annually. Responding to market demand for solar panels, our new materials illustrate PolyOne’s commitment to sustainable technologies and specialized solutions geared toward helping customers win today and tomorrow,” said Murielle Chuzeville, PolyOne’s general manager of low smoke and fume, zero halogen compounds.

ECCOH products are highly flame retardant, non-corrosive, offer low toxicity and smoke density, and are classified as a PolyOne Sustainable Solution. PolyOne markets and provides technical support to solar cable producers implementing ECCOH products throughout the world.
