Hydro Wins 2 Long Term Contracts to Supply Danish Window Manufacturers

Hydro Aluminium in Tønder, Denmark, has won two long-term contracts with the two biggest window producers in the country.

The extrusion plant has worked toward achieving strategic goals in the "building" market segment, through intensified focus on the major manufacturers of aluminium-wood windows.

This particular type of window has been on the Scandinavian market for two decades, and today enjoys extensive exports to the UK, Ireland and Germany. Over the last years, the annual growth in this part of the window market has been around 15 percent per year - and the growth is expected to remain at a high level during the next several years.

In the first half of this year, the Hydro Aluminium plant in Tønder won two four-year agreements, one with the company Ideal Combi A/S and the other with Velfac A/S, covering deliveries of tailor-made aluminium profiles. Both agreements will start in the first quarter of 2005. In addition to the profiles, Hydro will supply anodizing services to the companies.
