Allegheny to Purchase Crucible Compaction Metals and Crucible Research Assets

Allegheny Technologies Inc. announced that it expects to purchase the assets of Crucible Compaction Metals and Crucible Research. They won the rights to purchase the business following a winning bid of $40.95 million at an auction held as part of a US Bankruptcy Court proceeding.

The transaction is expected to be completed before the end of October 2009.
