Polysius, a ThyssenKrupp Technologies company, has been awarded by the Thang Long Cement Joint Stock Company a contract to build a cement production line with a daily output of 6,000 tonnes of cement clinker. The plant will be erected in Quang Ninh province close to Halong Bay and around 150 km north of Hanoi. A second contract covers the supply of a cement grinder to be built in Ho Chi Minh City.
Together worth around 110 million euros, the two contracts were signed in October 2004 in the presence of Vietnam`s premier and the German chancellor.
Vietnam is presently evolving from an agrarian society into a modern industrial nation whose cement consumption in 2003 alone climbed 20 percent.
Besides all the mechanical and electrical equipment, Polysius will provide the detailed plans for the civil engineering and structural steelwork, production and assembly supervision, commissioning, plus personnel training and general technical assistance.
Extending from the quarry-based limestone crushers via the cement grinder to the cement loading station, the production line will feature state-of-the-art products and comprehensive factory automation. A portion of the cement clinker produced will be shipped to the cement grinder to be set up in Ho Chi Minh City where it will be ground into cement. The grinder is designed to produce 200 tonnes of cement hourly.
This is the second cement production line to be supplied to Vietnam within 2 years and underscores Polysius` reputation for technology leadership in Vietnam, too.
