Supplier of specialty chemicals, Perstorp has displayed its new line of products for polyurethane dispersions (PUDs), including Oxymer polycarbonate diols, high-end Capa polycaprolactones and Ymer N120, an innovative non-ionic dispersing monomer, at the 2011 European Coatings Show conducted in Nuremberg, Germany.
The PUDs provide more options to formulators to tailor performance properties such as flexibility, hardness and durability depending on the requirements of the applications. They are water soluble and do not contain organic solvents, resulting in low content of volatile organic compound and in turn reduce environmental footprint.
Perstorp demonstrated the high adhesion, ultraviolet and chemical resistance properties of its pigmented Oxymer M112-based PUD spray coat by applying it on an aluminum surface. The company also displayed its special Ymer N120 that offers stability and strength to PUDs. It displayed two product samples of Ymer N120, one in very high pH solution and the other in very low pH solution.
Perstorp supplies specialty chemicals for the production of low impact and ultra performance polyurethane dispersions for applications such as non-yellowing and weather-resistant outdoor coatings, abrasion-resistant textile and leather coatings, and long-lasting wood floor coatings. The dispersions are also used to provide adhesives for automotive interiors, furniture, wood products and footwear and soft-feel coatings for plastics.
Perstorp offers base materials such as isocyanate cross-linkers, dispersing monomers, isocyanate monomers, polyols and chain-extenders for an extensive range of PUD formulations.
