Dynatec to Look at Increasing Platinum Production for Aglo American

Anglo American Platinum have just awarded a contract to Dynatec Corp. to carry out extensive process development test work and basic engineering design studies for the treatment of platinum group metals bearing nickel-copper matte from their South African Operations.

The work to be carried out by Dynatec will constitute part of a feasibility study by Anglo American into increasing its production capacity to 3.5 million ounces per annum of platinum.

Currently all South African base metals refineries that utilise PGM containing nickel-copper mattes, use pressure leaching technology licensed from Dynatec. The test work will be carried at Dynatec’s pilot plant in Canada and is worth approximately C$1.5 million.
