HITCO Carbon Composites Receives Boeing Performance Excellence Award

HITCO Carbon Composites, Gardena, California, a subsidiary of SGL Group − The Carbon Company − announced today that it has received a 2010 Boeing Performance Excellence Award (BPEA).

The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance. HITCO Carbon Composites maintained a Silver composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period from 1 October 2009 through 30 September 2010.

We deeply appreciate the recognition which this award conveys as HITCO pursues its goal of becoming the world class Tier II supplier of composite components to the aerospace industry," said Anthony Lawson, HITCO President. "Along with the support of our parent company, SGL Group - The Carbon Company, we continue to invest in capabilities, people, equipment and facilities to deliver the high quality composite components that Boeing expects to receive from its supplier base," Lawson added.

HITCO Carbon Composites supplies a growing number of structural composite components in support of The Boeing Company's 747, 767, 787 and C-17 Globemaster Programs - in addition to working closely with Boeing Research & Technology on new programs. HITCO has been a supplier to The Boeing Company for over a half-century. This is the sixth consecutive BPEA that HITCO has received from Boeing, including Supplier of the Year award received in 2008.

This year, Boeing recognized 558 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award.
