Molex Incorporated will showcase the company’s MediSpec™ Micro-Miniature Coiling (MMC) capability designed for medical applications, including minimally invasive surgery, catheters and implanted devices at MD&M Minneapolis, October 30 through November 1, booth 1344. Constructed of biocompatible materials, MediSpec MMC features a continuous length coil enabling extrusion of micro gauge (50 to 26 AWG class) wire at virtually infinite lengths.

Molex MMC technology is tailored for device designers in cardiac rhythm management, pacemakers and defibrillators, as well as implantable neurological pain management and stimulation. Conventional coils produced on a lathe are restricted in length and do not always provide the tolerances required in mission critical procedures. New customizable MediSpec MMC continuous length coils can meet extremely tight tolerances to 0.0254 mm (0.001”) outer diameter. MMC coils are offered with or without a retracted tube mandrel in a wide selection of high performance fluoropolymers and PTFE suitable for invasive/implanted applications.
