DuPont Refrigerants Completes Purchase of Rhodia Refrigerant Business

DuPont Refrigerants recently announced it completed the purchase of the Isceon® hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant blends business from Rhodia. The acquisition will allow refrigerant customers access to additional sustainable refrigerant solutions to help accelerate the reduction of ozone-depleting substances.

"DuPont Refrigerants first shared a new vision for the future at the AHR Expo in February 2005, as we began celebrating our 75 years of leadership in the refrigerants industry," said Mark Baunchalk, global business manager, refrigerants, DuPont Fluorochemicals.

"Completing this transaction to acquire the Isceon® blends is an excellent example of how we are bringing more sustainable cooling and environmental solutions to our global customer base. It also represents another important step in the progress we are making to achieve our vision for The Science of Cool™, which focuses on science and technology, environmental solutions, global relationships, and sustainable cooling," Mark said.

DuPont Refrigerants assumes sales responsibility for the portfolio of Isceon® refrigerant blends, including: Isceon® 49, Isceon® 59, Isceon® 69, Isceon® 79, and others.

"The acquisition also reinforces the commitment to DuPont Fluorochemicals, which is an integral part of the DuPont fluorine enterprise," said John McCool, global business director, DuPont Fluorochemicals. "Our Refrigerants business is the largest business in the DuPont Fluorochemicals portfolio and is fundamental to our continued success."
