The Perstorp Group, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will be showcasing its new Neopentyl Glycol (Neo) and innovative Capa™ polyols for PU coatings & stoving enamels at Chinacoat 2013. Considerable investments have been made into a new Neo plant at Zibo to support the growing demand for powder coatings in China. The investments are part of Perstorp’s long-standing commitment to China and to the Chinese coating customers.
New Neopentyl Glycol investment supplies Chinese coatings market
Fully operational and producing high quality products from day one the new Perstorp Neo plant at Zibo is ready to meet the growing demand for powder coatings in China. The investment represents a triumph of Chinese and Swedish engineering not only in the production of high quality Neo, but in terms of plant and environmental safety.

The rapid expansion in powder coating applications across a wide range of industries, especially in China, means that we can now support our Chinese coating customers with locally supplied Neo. New Capa™ for coatings at Chinacoat
Perstorp is the world leader in caprolactones, both in terms of global capacity as well as the scientific development of this versatile and unique polyol technology. Capa™ polyols are ideal for premium PU coatings and stoving enamels providing exceptional abrasion resistance with high flexibility. They also represent another product technology from Perstorp that provides a more sustainable coating solution due to the low VOC. Capa™ is available for high performance 2K PU coatings for substrates sensitive to heat, such as plastics, wood and cars, and objects too big to be stove enameled, such as trains, airplanes and wind turbines. Capa™ polyols are ideal for 1K stoving formulations too, and are particularly important in stoving high performance automotive parts, and coil coatings. The Capa™ for coatings offer will be an important highlight on the Perstorp stand at Chinacoat.
Putting care into chemicals
“Perstorp will also be presenting its range of environmentally friendly products for coatings, such as Voxtar™, the world’s first renewable pentaerythritol, as well as our building block PUD technologies, such as Ymer™, Capa™ and Oxymer™,” says Mats Olofsson, Regional Head North East Asia. “With 80% of our R&D focused on finding innovative and sustainable solutions we really do put care into chemicals.”
Other important products on show will be TMP (locally produced in Zibo) for powder coatings and Charmor™ for intumescent coatings. This will include the new Charmor™ PM40 Care with a sharpened sustainable profile, as it is produced from renewable raw material and energy.
