“It is with great honor that we recognize Eaton for its continued efforts in sustainability,” said Tanya Markos-Vanno, executive director, Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are very lucky to have such a dynamic member and community leader in Southfield.”

The award was presented by Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence at the Excellence in Southfield breakfast, which was held January 10th at the Skyline Club in Southfield. Scott Adams, executive sales director for Eaton’s Automotive North America operations, and Bill Burlingame, Southfield facility manager, attended the ceremony on behalf of Eaton.

“It is an honor to receive Southfield’s Sustainability Award,” Adams said. “We have had a great partnership with the local community since Eaton’s Southfield campus opened in 1960, and many of our employees have proudly volunteered their time on various community projects over the years.”

As part of its values-based culture of “Doing business right,” Eaton is committed to driving sustainable growth around the world, including efficiently using and conserving global resources, developing energy-efficient products, reducing emissions and protecting the environment. Eaton also was ranked among world’s top sustainability performers on the NASDAQ Global Sustainability 50 Index, and it has been named one of Ethisphere Magazine’s “World’s Most Ethical Companies” from 2007 to 2013. The company has included a sustainability report as part of its annual report since 2006 and is committed to the Business Roundtable’s Climate RESOLVE initiative for greenhouse gas emission reductions and energy use.
