Oriel Instruments Announce New 8035 FTIR Scanner For Research or OEM Applications

Oriel Instruments, a Newport company, introduces the modular and compact 8035 Fourier-Transform-Infrared scanner.

The FT-IR scanner provides researchers and manufacturers with a powerful device to quickly, easily and accurately identify the infrared signals or signatures of materials with very high confidence. It is easily adaptable to various application needs and provides uncompromising performance at an economic price.

“The 8035 FT-IR is an ideal solution for researchers who need flexibility and use an FT-IR for more than just traditional analytical applications”, says Ben Twombly, Product Marketing Manager for Oriel Instruments. “The Oriel FT-IR is typically used in research laboratories or as part of original equipment manufacturing (OEM) where a high performance FT-IR scanner is part of a larger solution.”

The 8035 FT-IR scanner features a full size 1.5 inch beam for higher throughput and more sensitivity.  It covers a wide spectral range from 700 nm to 28,000 nm with interchangeable beam splitters and detectors and provides high resolution up to 0.5 cm-1. Combined with Oriel’s modular range of light sources, detectors and sample holders, the 8035 FT-IR scanner can be used as a key component to build custom instruments to fit specific IR spectroscopy needs.

Compared to its predecessor, the new compact enclosure of the 8035 FT-IR results in a 25 % smaller footprint with better heat management. Other improvements include an innovative, easier beam splitter adjustment and a new rock-solid laser mount. Oriel’s new high-value FT-IR  scanner ships with included 64-bit compliant, user-friendly Mat-Lab-based MIRMat software.
