Magnesium International Announces First Commercial Purchase Order for Magsheet

Magnesium International Limited (MIL) has announced that its wholly owned magsheet subsidiary has secured its first commercial purchase order for 3 mm magnesium alloy sheet from a Japanese customer.

This sheet will be produced by the trial production plant at Clayton, Victoria using the Twin Roll casting (“TRC”) technology which MIL has under option.

MIL is actively working with a broad range of potential customers in the Camera, Computer and Communication (“CCC”) and automotive markets for the application of magnesium alloy sheet using the TRC process. This technology, which is production ready, provides a significant reduction in the cost of producing magnesium alloy sheet.
