New Range of Choice from Point Grey Available at VISION 2014

Point Grey, a world-leading designer and manufacturer of innovative, high-performance digital cameras, will showcase its largest selection yet of USB3 Vision and GigE Vision cameras at the upcoming VISION 2014 exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany.

Under the theme of “More Choice”, Point Grey will showcase over 20 different camera models featuring the latest CCD and CMOS sensor technology, ranging from VGA to 12 MP. The live demonstrations will focus on three flagship camera families addressing a wide range of applications in machine vision and industrial imaging. Drawing on today’s leading digital interface technologies, USB3 Vision and GigE Vision, these camera families offer powerful, easy-to-use, and cost-effective alternatives for existing FireWire, USB 2.0, and analog solutions.

Chameleon®3 – Entry-Level, Ultra-Compact, Flexible Form Factors
The Chameleon3 USB3 Vision camera family is the next generation of the highly popular Chameleon USB 2.0 camera. Existing Chameleon users will benefit from the enhanced functionality and larger sensor selection of the new Chameleon3 camera line, while enjoying a lower price point. New users will benefit from flexible form factors such as different board-level and lens holder options; an ultra-compact size of 44 x 35 x 19.5 mm; and high-quality progressive scan CCDs and global shutter CMOS sensors. The Chameleon3 starts at just $295 / €219.

Blackfly® – Compact, Low-Cost Starting at $295 / €219
The Blackfly has it all: highly sensitive CCD and CMOS sensors; a range from VGA to 5 MP, industry-leading affordability; 3-year warranty; and now two interfaces – USB3 and GigE Vision. With its host of unique features, the Blackfly is perfectly suited for almost any type of application and provides an easy interface transition from FireWire and USB 2.0, as well as from analog to digital.

Grasshopper®3 – High Performance CCD and CMOS
The Grasshopper3 camera line combines large format, high resolution CCD and CMOS sensors with the throughput capabilities of USB 3.0 and GigE for maximum performance. Ranging from 1.4 MP to 12 MP, the Grasshopper3 is ideal for a wide variety of demanding industrial applications such as AOI and electronics inspection, and scientific applications such as microscopy and ophthalmology.
