Hitco Receive Another Order for Carbon Composite Tailcones from Boeing

Hitco Carbon Composites, a subsidiary of SGL Carbon has just received an order for a further 60 composite tailcone structures for the US Armed forces. This order is in addition to the 124 units already ordered by Boeing, of which 110 are already delivered.

The tailcone units are for the C-17 Globemaster, the most versatile airlifter. Production of the new order will begin in 2004, at the rate of 20 per year.
