Krauss-Maffei and Berstorff Form Russian JV for Polymer Processing Equipment

Hannover-based Berstorff and Munich-based Krauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik set up a joint subsidiary according to Russian law. The BKM O.O.O., under the legal form of a German GmbH, is registered in Moscow. With the foundation of a joint subsidiary, both companies intend to extend and improve the range of services for their customers in Russia and the neighbouring states. BKM will concentrate on services, like assembly and commissioning as well as modernisation and repairs. An own spare parts stock shall be installed at a future date.

"Our intention is to offer the best possible service on site to our customers in Russia and the other countries of the CIS", says Dieter Brunner, CEO of BKM. Berstorff has already been present in these markets for more than 80 years and has delivered numerous tailor-made individual machines and complete production lines for the plastics and rubber processing industries. The Berstorff sales and service office in Moscow was established in 2001. The joint office with Krauss-Maffei has existed since 2002.
