Stimir's TMMS 200 Level Sensor Results in Excellent Aluminium Casting Uniformity

Aluminium casting using conventional level sensing methods can result in poor uniformity, inadequate slab shape and an overall reduction in surface quality.

Stímir's TMMS 200 Metal Level Sensor alleviates these problems and has proven results in use for over nine years in smelters across Europe.

The TMMS 200 is a highly sensitive and accurate non-contact displacement sensor on a mobile arm with an accuracy of ±0.5mm. A processor controlled stepping motor moves the sensor arm, measuring the metal level in real time and precisely calculating the sensor head status. The total sensing range of Stimir's TMMS 200 Metal Level Sensor is 200mm.

Stímir's TMMS 200 is supplied as an independent unit capable of interfacing with almost any type of metal casting system. It is durable and operates with minimum maintenance for long periods in constant use, saving both overheads and resources.

Stímir also manufactures Metal Flow Controllers for precise control of aluminium during casting. Using the TMMS 200 in combination with Stímir's Metal Flow Controllers yields even more precise control over the whole casting process.
