DuPont has retained first place in the chemicals category on Fortune Magazine's annual "most admired companies" survey of global business leaders, corporate board members and investors. Among the top five companies in Chemicals, DuPont outranked BASF, Air Products & Chemicals, Dow Chemical and Bayer. DuPont ranked first on the following attributes: innovation, people management, social responsibility, financial soundness and quality of products/services.
In results posted on line yesterday, Fortune announced the top 10 companies on the "Global Most Admired" list of over 300 companies, and said it would announce the complete results on March 12. DuPont ranked 31st in 2006. General Electric retained the top position for 2007, followed by Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and Apple.
