Jacobs Engineering Win Contract for Design of Dow's Elastomer Plant Expansion in Germany

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that it received a contract from Dow Chemical Company to provide detailed design services for an expansion to Dow's Solution Elastomer manufacturing facility at Schkopau, Germany.

Jacobs' officials did not disclose the contract value.

The project involves adding a third process train to the existing production facility. Jacobs' services include performing detailed engineering for the process units portion and managing the offsite interfaces.

Jacobs will perform the detailed engineering entirely from its office in Mumbai, India, with management from its hydrocarbon center in Leiden, The Netherlands. The project is scheduled for completion in 2008.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Andy Kremer said, "This new opportunity extends our 10-year relationship with Dow in Germany. Jacobs designed and built the original facility at Schkopau, and we are pleased to help extend Dow's production capacity at this important site."
