Lubrizol Open New Engineered Polymer Facility in Malaysia

The Lubrizol Corporation is opening a new manufacturing facility in Seremban, Malaysia that will produce products for its Estane® Engineered Polymers product line. The new facility is just one more step in Lubrizol’s commitment to market innovation and global expansion.
The new plant will serve the electronics industry by manufacturing injection molding resins to support Lubrizol’s market-leading electro static discharge (ESD) solutions and services. “The investment in this facility represents our commitment to continuous product innovations,” says Mike Vaughn, vice president and general manager of Lubrizol’s Estane Engineered Polymers business.

Asia-Pacific is one of the key growth areas in the Lubrizol Advanced Materials segment, and this new facility will play a significant role in positioning the company in that region. “Speed to market is critical to our success in the marketplace. Business growth and customer demand will drive future investments in this region,” says Don Bogus, Lubrizol senior vice president and president of Lubrizol Advanced Materials. “The investment in this plant is our response to the market needs for innovations in injection molding, and it complements our sheet business in the hard disk drive, liquid crystal display, medical and aerospace markets,” says Bogus.

Seremban’s excellent local infrastructure, including transportation and utilities, the availability of a qualified workforce, and the friendly and efficient Malaysian government, particularly Negeri Sembilan local authorities, were important factors in the company’s decision for locating the plant in that region.
