UHV Vacuum Components

Recent decades have seen a dramatic change in vacuum equipment. Thanks to the concerted development of next-generation UHV vacuum components, systems and technologies which were once reserved for academic researchers are now available to commercial and industrial users on large scales.

This applies not only to rough, process and high vacuum (HV) regimes but to ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions with pressures below 10-9 mbar.

UHV Design specializes in the manufacture of cutting-edge UHV vacuum components suitable for both academic and industrial applications.

The comprehensive product range from UHV Design includes a range of production-proven manipulators suitable for HV/UHV vacuum systems. UHV vacuum components from UHV Design are continually reviewed and improved upon based on a customer-centric development strategy.

This enables the development of best-in-class solutions for persistent challenges or process-specific problems. This article takes a look at a selection of the UHV vacuum components developed by UHV Design.

UHV Motion Feedthroughs

Feedthroughs enable in-situ manipulation without compromising the integrity of vacuum systems. The MagiDrive rotary feedthrough from UHV Design uses a high-torque-to-size-ratio magnetic coupling to transfer rotation into a chamber.

MagiDrive UHV vacuum components are available in either solid or hollow shaft configurations. A combined compact hollow rotary and linear drive are also available.

UHV Manipulators

UHV Design specializes in manipulation equipment, with expertise in heating and motion control for HV and UHV applications. Their ever-growing range includes linear actuators, single- and multi-axial stages, sample transfer arms, push-pull devices, heater modules and more.

Multiple configuration options are available within each category to suit various customer needs with true UHV compatibility. Each comes with a UHV Design guarantee of field-tested reliability over extended service lengths with minimal maintenance requirements.

UHV Viewport Shutters

Glass or quartz viewport surfaces require protection at critical points during vacuum processing. UHV Design provides viewport shutters based on proprietary MagiDrive technology, which system windows to be covered with up to 100% coverage. UHV Design blades are also compatible with most standard CF flange configurations.
