Laboratory Scale Extruder from Hosokawa Rietz

AZoM - Metals, Ceramics, Polymer and Composites : Laboratory Scale Extruder from Hosokawa Rietz

Laboratory-scale extrusion is now available from Hosokawa Rietz with the introduction of the EM-2. Based on the company’s long established  Extrudomix, the EM-2 performs as a mixer extruder designed for product development, which can then be directly scaled up to production size once testing is complete. The unit can form 0.5-0.6mm diameter extrusions, or continuously mix pasty materials from 20,000 to 2x106 centipoise. Needing only 1-3 kg of powder feed for feasibility studies and a typical capacity range of 9-28kg.hr, the EM-2 is particularly appropriate for studies with minimal quantities or high value materials.
