Omniseal Solutions has announced a major expansion of its Rulon® e-Shop, introducing new dimensions, formats, and grades to support engineers needing high-performance PTFE-based materials. We sat down with Bernard Landtmeters, Product Manager for Rulon® materials, to learn more about this strategic move.
Omniseal Solutions recently made a major expansion to their Rulon® e-Shop. What motivated this upgrade?
Two years ago, we launched the Rulon® e-Shop to give engineers fast, direct access to our most trusted high-performance polymer solutions. The adoption has been strong, but we realized customers needed more flexibility, including more sizes, formats, and grades. The expansion enables engineers and procurement teams to source the right materials faster, reduce downtime, and maintain business continuity, especially during time-critical maintenance or prototyping phases.
What differentiates Rulon® materials from other polymers?
Rulon® fluoropolymer is a proprietary family of PTFE-based materials engineered for exceptional wear resistance, very low friction, and broad chemical compatibility. These properties allow Rulon® material to withstand extreme temperatures, high loads, and challenging environments - often without lubrication. That makes it ideal for applications in aviation, space, industrial machinery, life science, energy, and automation. Wherever precision, longevity, and reliability are non-negotiable, the Rulon® solution consistently performs.

What benefits will users see with the expanded offering?
The main benefit is increased material availability and sourcing speed. Customers can now order a larger range of rods, tubes, tapes, and sheets directly online. They can also choose from multiple Rulon® grades, such as:
- Rulon® LR – general-purpose bearings
- Rulon® J – excellent for soft shaft compatibility
- Rulon® 641 – FDA-compliant for life science and food applications
This rapid response and delivery removes the need for lengthy custom production for many use cases.

Can you share examples of where Rulon® material truly excels?
There are many. We commonly see Rulon® materials used in:
- Bearings in pumps and compressors
- Precision machined parts for metering equipment
- Certified Rulon® grades for pharmaceutical mixers
- Wear components in automated machinery
Essentially, anywhere components must operate under harsh conditions with minimal friction and long service life, i.e., industrial, aviation, and life science.
How does this e-Shop expansion support Omniseal Solutions’ long-term strategy?
Our mission is to push “Beyond the Boundaries of Possible.” Part of achieving this goal for our customers is increasing global access to high-performance engineering materials. The e-Shop expansion is a natural progression, pairing advanced materials expertise with a digital platform that simplifies procurement for technical teams worldwide.
Where can engineers learn more or place orders?
They can visit www.rulonshop.com to explore the full portfolio, compare materials, and order directly online. It is fast, convenient, and supported by the same quality and technical expertise our customers have relied on for decades.
