Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene - ABS Fire Retardant

Polymer Type

Thermoplastic

Advantages

Care must be taken not to exceed processing temperatures of approx. 245°C           ( 470°F ) so as to avoid decomposition of the material. Colour may not exhibit the same degree of fastness associated with other ABS grades.

Disadvantages

Better fire resistance ( UL = V0 ) than standard grades of ABS. Low notched izod impact strength ( ~ 0.18 KJ/m - 3.4 ft lb/in ) compared with unmodified grades of ABS.
