Advantages

Improved low temperature flexibility compared to LDPE.  Film has improved clarity compared to LDPE.  Improved weathering.  Similar flexibility to Plasticised PVC may be obtained, but without problems of plasticiser migration.  May be crosslinked and radio frequency welded.  Better tear resistance than LDPE.  Can accept high filler loadings.

Disadvantages

Reduced chemical resistance compared to LDPE.  Reduced barrier properties.  Reduced creep resistance.

Applications

Stretch film for shrink wrapping, protector strips, shoe soles (crosslinked), disposable medical equipment.  As a coating (for heat  sealing) on PP, PET and aluminium films.  Flexible toys, tubing, wire coating.
