Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Welding

Welding processes suitable for the UNS C83600 alloy include brazing, soldering and coated metal arc welding. Gas shielded arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and carbon arc welding are not recommended for this alloy.

Machinability

The machinability rating of the UNS C83600 alloy is 84.

Heat Treatment

The UNS C83600 alloy has stress relieving temperature of 260°C (500°F). This alloy does not react to heat treatment. The time at temperature for this alloy is one hour per inch of section thickness.
