Introduction

Copper alloys are available in a variety of forms. UNS C15100 alloy is a zirconium copper alloy.

It has excellent corrosion resistance along with excellent hot or cold workability. It is often used in high temperature circuit breakers, commutators and soldering welding tips.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Annealing

UNS C15100 alloy can be annealed between 449 and 552°C (840 and 1025°F).

Cold Working

UNS C15100 alloy has excellent cold working capacity.

Welding

Welding processes suitable for UNS C15100 alloy include brazing, soldering and butt welding. Welding processes not recommended for this alloys include seam welding, oxyacetylene welding, coated metal arc welding, spot welding and gas shielded arc welding.

Forging

UNS C15100 alloy can be forged between 760 and 871°C (1400 and 1600°F).

Machinability

The machinability rating of UNS C15100 alloy is 20.

Hot Working

UNS C15100 alloy can be hot formed in an excellent manner.

UNS C15100 alloy is used in applications that include:
