Introduction

Steels containing carbon as the main alloying element are referred to as carbon steels. They also contain 1.2% of manganese, and 0.4% of silicon. Residual elements such as chromium, molybdenum, copper, aluminium, and nickel are also present in small quantities.

The following datasheet gives an overview of AISI 1213 carbon steel.
