Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Magnesium AZ92A-T6 alloy is commonly welded using arc-welding and gas-shielded techniques. It is stress-relieved after welding. The material is then heat-treated at 410°C (765°F) for 16 to 24 h. The castings are then cooled to room temperature. This process is followed by aging at 218°C (425°F) for 5 h.
Applications
Magnesium AZ92A-T6 alloy is usually used in sand casting and permanent mold casting.
