Introduction

Aluminium / aluminum is being employed in an ever-increasing number of applications as engineers and manufacturers have learnt to utilize various combinations of its advantageous properties.

The primary alloying elements of aluminium / aluminum are copper, zinc, magnesium, silicon, manganese and lithium. Aluminium / aluminum 8000 series alloys are solution heat treated and age hardened. Aluminium / aluminum 8014 alloy is a wrought alloy.
