For the past twelve years, I have worked on the development and manufacture of zirconia and alumina advanced ceramic materials. My experience has covered microstructure-property relationships in Y-TZP, MgO-PSZ, Ce-TZP, ZTA and alumina.
I have given advice to hundreds of companies and provided innovative solutions to their wear and corrosion problems in a variety of industrial sectors including pumping, cutting, oil and gas exploration, metal forming, telecommunications and bioceramics.
I have considerable experience and have lectured on the full range of ceramic forming techniques including slip casting, freeze casting, die pressing, isostatic pressing, injection moulding and tape casting.
In addition to the full range of monolithic advanced ceramics, I am able to advise companies on options for applying wear resistant coatings.
I have been responsible for the management of $1M projects researching the laser cladding process, deposition of Cobalt based hard facing alloys and differing types of WC-Co powder and characterisation of the microstructure-mechanical property relationship for the deposited materials.
