Dow Corning Provides Advice for Business Transformation Through Innovation

Editors and publishers of leading U.S. newspaper organizations recently looked to Dow Corning Corporation for advice on transforming business through innovation.

Stephanie A. Burns, chairman, president and CEO of Dow Corning recently participated in a panel discussion titled “Innovation – Successful Change Happens” at the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) and the American Society of Newspaper Editors (ASNE) Capital Conference.

Scott Anthony, president of Innosight LLC, an innovation consulting boutique, moderated the panel discussion. Joining Burns on the panel were:

A.G. Lafley, chairman, president and CEO, Procter & Gamble
Philip Faraci, president and COO, Eastman Kodak Company
The newspaper industry is facing unprecedented turbulence as print circulation declines and advertising dollars shift to new providers. The panelists discussed the successful transformation of their businesses over the last seven years, providing actionable guidance and hope to the audience.

Burns shared Dow Corning’s transformation story, including details on the company’s decision to introduce of Web-based business model, Xiameter, which last year celebrated its fifth anniversary. She emphasized the importance of listening to the voice of the customer, creating an innovative culture and trusting in your team.
