BASF, the world’s leading chemical company and one of the market leaders in electronic materials, will highlight an array of advanced chemical solutions for the semiconductor industry at the SEMICON Europe trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany, from October 7 to 9, 2008.
At Booth 912 in Hall 1, members of the BASF team will inform visitors about the company’s latest developments.
“In research, we invest into leading-edge chemical solutions focusing on advanced Copper interconnect technology. We provide tailor-made solutions to meet the specific technology requirements, and we run these projects in cooperation with both customers and technology centers”, states Vincent Liu, Director of BASF’s Business Unit Electronic Materials Europe. “Furthermore I am proud to announce the customers´ statement during the recent audit that our new production and distribution center - the Electronic Materials Center Europe (EMCE) - has set a new benchmark in the electronic materials industry to produce and supply high quality chemicals to our customers,” Liu continues.
The company will highlight innovative solutions for various processes, such as:
- Wet deposition solutions – As a result of years of BASF research, these solutions include super filling copper electroplating solutions and selective electroless copper layer deposition.
- Chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) solutions - Leveraging its expertise in chemistry and in semiconductor surface conditioning, BASF has developed advanced oxide, copper and barrier slurries for CMP processes.
- GreenLoop™ - BASF’s full lifecycle service. With this service, BASF uses its unique chemical expertise to provide its customers with a reliable solution for chemical wastes. Customers will benefit from BASF’s service to achieve the high environmental standard of sustainable semiconductor manufacturing practices.
In addition BASF will also showcase the advanced portfolio in process chemicals, its trading partner VWR and high-temperature thermo-couple assemblies for the semiconductor industry.
